Bruce Gordon
Bruce Gordon has more than 35 years of experience in public relations, crisis communications and media. Most recently, he served 10 years as the Director of Communications for the Minnesota Department of Public Safety, overseeing public information, media relations, and communications efforts of the agency’s 10 divisions.
Prior to DPS, Gordon provided strategic public relations and public affairs counsel to local, national, and international clients for the largest public relations firm in Minnesota.
Gordon spent five years in the Minnesota Governor’s office, serving in several capacities including Director of Communications and spokesman. He was responsible for coordinating the communications efforts of 25 state agencies, including in crisis situations. Gordon was also the primary contact in the Governor’s Office for emergency and natural disaster response.
Gordon also served 10 years as the Director of Communications for the Minnesota Department of Commerce. There he designed and implemented media and communications strategies and acted as the department spokesman regarding insurance, securities, banking, and energy issues.
Gordon’s media background includes experience as a program director, news director, reporter, and talk show host in various markets including the Twin Cities.
